Key Spelthorne Locations

Leisure and Culture

Spelthorne has a lot to offer when it comes to lifestyle and leisure activities.

With more miles of the River Thames than any other London borough, it's perfect for a long leisurely walk or a cycle ride. Explore the many parks and open spaces located by the river, complemented by a great selection of pubs, restaurants and cafes on or nearby the river.

For the thrill seekers Thorpe Park is just 10 minutes away, Chessington World of Adventures is less than 10 miles away from Spelthorne and younger families are bound to enjoy LegoLand at Windsor. Those who enjoy sport will be spoiled for choice with international rugby at Twickenham, Premier League football at a number of London teams including Tottenham Hotspur, Chelsea and Arsenal, as well as many horse racecourses nearby at Kempton Park which is based in Spelthorne, Ascot, Windsor, Epsom and Sandown.

Spelthorne also has a multi screen cinema in Staines Upon Thames, a comedy club in Sunbury on Thames and theatres close by in Kingston, Richmond, Woking and Windsor. When it comes to eating out there is a huge choice of restaurants and pubs to choose from. If you want to keep fit then there are two leisure centres and a number of gyms in the area.

The River Thames itself abounds with opportunities for rowing, canoeing, riverboat cruising and boat hire, or for simply walking along and enjoying, plus Spelthorne is only just over an hour's drive to the beach.
